Originally released in 1958 Miles Davis' creation of the soundtrack to Louis Malle's film noir Ascenseur pour l'Échafaud remains one of his finest albums — and one of the only jazz soundtracks that was entirely improvised. Starring Miles Davis, Barney Wilen, Rene Urtreger, Pierre Michelot and Kenny Clarke, recorded in Paris, Le Poste Parisien, December 4/5 1957. Celebrating the centenary of Miles Davis, Decca France presents this beautiful limited edition deluxe reissue, remastered from the original analog tapes and cut at Abbey Road Studios.
