A newly restored John Coltrane live recording Live In Finland 1961-1962 draws from two Helsinki performances recorded atKulttuuritalo for YLE: the 1961 concert featuring John Coltrane with Eric Dolphy, McCoy Tyner, Reggie Workman and Elvin Jones, plus 1962 recordings with Tyner, Jimmy Garrison and Jones. The set captures Coltrane in the intense, exploratory period around My Favorite Things, with extended performances of "My Favorite Things," "Blue Train," "I Want to Talk About You," "Impressions" and "Bye Bye Blackbird." Presented inside a gatefold sleeve with gold-foil signature print, invidually hand-numbered and limited to just 4000 copies. Recommended).
