Vinyl. Originally released in 1970 on Apple
Records, Encouraging Words was BillyPreston's fifth
studio album and his second and final release for the label.
Co-produced by Preston and George Harrison, it is especially
notable for featuring the first released versions of Harrison's
"My Sweet Lord" and "All Things Must Pass", issued ahead of
his own recordings for All Things Must Pass. Though it
was overlooked commercially at the time, the album has since
come to be regarded as one of the strongest non-Beatles
releases on Apple and this welcome reissue brings renewed
attention to a record that bridges gospel, soul, rock and
keyboard-led pop with ease. Alongside Preston originals, the
set includes "I've Got A Feeling", "Sing One For the Lord" and
the title track, all delivered with the fluid musicianship and
warm vocal phrasing that made him such a distinctive
