Issued to mark the album's 50th anniversary, this 5CD +
Blu-ray Super Deluxe Edition revisits the singular 1975
collaboration between Frank Zappa and Captain
Beefheart, built around the material and performances
that emerged from their May 1975 work together. Bongo
Fury drew from live recordings captured at Armadillo
World Headquarters in Austin, Texas, alongside studio
recordings made at The Record Plant in Los Angeles, and
remains a notable entry in the Zappa catalogue as the final
release to feature the name "Mothers" before it was
retired in 1976. This expanded edition presents five
CDs of material, around 80% previously unreleased,
including studio outtakes, live recordings, and both Armadillo
World Headquarters concerts from 20 and 21 May 1975,
complete and remixed from the original 16-track masters.
The set also includes unseen photos and liner notes by band
member Denny Walley and Vaultmeister Joe Travers. On the
Blu-ray, the album is presented with new Dolby Atmos, 5.1
Surround Mixes, and High-resolution Stereo audio,
alongside bonus surround audio drawn from Zappa's Vault.
Housed inside a clamshell picture box with hype sticker,
