This only ever got as far as a test pressing at Nimbus in Monmouth and never saw a commercial release with this catalogue number, but was released in Europe that same year with an 810 062-1 catalogue number, still on DJM but no longer pressed by Nimbus.
What the purpose of this LP was, whether for a proper UK release or as one of the Hi-Fi magazine special LPs that were popular at the time is unknown.
What is known, however, is that this disc comes directly from a former Nimbus employee and would only have existed in handfuls for test purposes.
The vinyl looks played but my suspicion is that it was only played to test the sonics, possibly just the once. The vinyl still gleams and is completely unmarked.
Being a test press, it is in a generic die cut sleeve.
If you fancy owning a Sir Elton John record and being one of less than a handful in the world with this LP, then you'd better jump in quick.
This indeed is the 'Superior Sound' pressing that the title indicates, pressed properly by one of the best pressing plants on the planet.
