VARIOUS Hot Shots Of Reggae (Rare 1970 UK first press 12-track MONO LP compilation, on the rough textured orange & white Trojan label, showcasing a dozen of record boss/producer Leslie Kong’s most popular recordings, with hits by The Pioneers, The Melodians, The Maytals, The Gaylads & more, all produced by the legendary Chinese-Jamaican Kong, one of the sharpest operators in Kingston town [sadly passing away in his 30s the following year]. Obtained from the private collection of the late British song arranger, Johnny Arthey, who worked on many hits for Trojan in the UK, the front laminated picture sleeve is in superb condition, with the original '19'11' price sticker attached & a 'Johnny Arthey File Copy' annotation to the left hand side of an iconic image of a red hot black 'cowgirl'. The cover shows little of its age & the vinyl is nice & clean & played only once or twice in its life. A boss copy indeed & a fine representation of the golden age of Jamaican music! TBL128).
