MCALISTER Planetarium (2017 UK/EU limited edition 17-track
double vinyl LP featuring the collaborative release from Bryce
Dessner [The National], drummer James McAlister,
contemporary classical music composer & arranger Nico
Muhly and singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens. Originally
commissioned by Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, Brooklyn
Academy of Music, The Barbican and the Vivid Live Festival at
Sydney Opera House and with additional performances held at
Disney Concert Hall and La Salle Pleyel, the album consists of
songs inspired by the Solar System as well as black holes,
Halley's Comet, the Kuiper belt, the Moon and the Sun, with
one critic referring to it as an "immersive, celestial space
opera". The two vinyl discs look barely played housed in the
gatefold picture sleeve which comes with picture inners and
six double-sided artwork inserts and download slip! Both
sleeve and vinyl reveal minimal signs of wear or play
