This is a very hard to find record and was limited to the first few hundred off of the presses before they added the 'Sold In the UK' text to the labels. This dates this copy to the very beginning of 1964.
There are other differences as well:
1) The sleeve has a large block 'mono' on the front, which was smaller in subsequent pressings.
2) What Kind Of Girl Are You is credited to 'Capeheart-Campbell' which was corrected to 'Charles' for later presses.
3) Talkin' 'bout You is credited to 'Charles'. This was corrected to 'I'm Talking About You' and 'Berry' on later presses.
Condition:
The sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear with a couple of light marks on the front. There is the smalest amount of discolouration to the unlaminated back but nothing to write home about really. All text is clearly readable, as is the spine, and the flips are secure.
They were still using the poly lined EMItex inner at this point in time, and this copy comes with the original inner.
The vinyl is in stunning condition & while obviously played, retains its sheen with just a few spindle marks around the centre hole indicating either a very good aim on the part of the previous owner or very little play.
Upon very close inspection, there are very few light paper hairlines, but none of these impact play at all and background noise is at a minimum.
A very nice one owner copy if this extremely hard to find first issue and the first one that we have ever seen.
