VARIOUS-FILM, RADIO, THEATRE & TV Teenage Frankenstein (Scarce late 1950s UK 30" x 40" quad film poster for American International Pictures 1957 Herman Cohen cult horror movie [titled I Was A Teenage Frankenstein in the US], produced by SamuelZ. Arkoff, the follow-up to I Was A Teenage Werewolf in his series of adolecent-themed shockers, distributed by AngloAmalgamated in the UK. The poster uses the same close-up of the monster as used in the American poster art, however utilizesa different colour palette consisting of green, red & yellow with a black & white inset action photograph. There is some fantastic text on display with the title in a wonderful red font and impact boxes proclaiming 'FIENDISH' 'FRENZIED' 'BLOOD-CHILLING' as well as the familiar 'X-cert' for mature audiences only. The poster has three sharp folds vertically and three shallow folds horizontally and no holes where the folds intersect. There is a 9cm tear with a little paper loss on the top left temple of the monster with just a few small holes close by. The edges of the poster have small splits in places, but nothing severe, whilst the corners, although creased, show no paper loss. The poster has been stored well, meaning acid yellowing it kept to a minimum and the colours still retain a vivid clarity which leaves them as eye-catching as the day they were adorning the doorway of the local Gaumont! A superb example of B movie glory, which is devoted to the main feature , allowing the art to really speak for itself, perfect for framing).
