One of the hardest to find records in the Lansdowne series & also one of the best, this was the accomplished debut by Britain's finest jazz group of the sixties, the Don Rendell-Ian Carr Quintet. Not nearly celebrated enough, Rendell & Carr were Britain's answer to Miles & Coltrane. With beautiful, introspective modal numbers & a fine backing group consisting of Colin Purbrook (piano), Dave Green (bass) & Trevor Tomkin (drums), this is a firm winner through & through & comes highly recommended.
Condition
The sleeve is best descibed as good, there is a small tear at the top with a small hole above the last letter 'S' in the title, and a small amount of paper loss on the front near the spine. The flipbacks are secure with just minor discolouring to the back panel.
The labels have a few spindle marks were it has been played just a few times, as mentioned there is a Factory Sample sticker attached to Side 1.
The vinyl has been professionally cleaned, there are a few noticeable scuffs and the occasional light surface scratch, graded at VG+/EX-.
Although this is far from mint, this is the first Factory Sample issue we have ever had, offered here at an Advantageous price.
