Only a small select handful of these were produced by the studio engineers, purely to test the sonics & never sold to the general public. The reason behind the album not appearing on Vertigo is unclear. There are certainly some star names of the British underground to be found here, such as Jo Ann Kelly, Peter Green, Alan Hawkshaw, Kenny Wheeler & Clem Cattini, & self-penned tunes like 'The Fields Of Night' are outstanding.
White Labels:-
The labels are plain white - side one is annotated in blue biro. This is the pressing used as reference to Mercury, as the artist name & the proposed Mercury catalogue number '6310 001' was already in place by this stage & is scrawled by hand on side one.

To complete the package we have included the original Mercury textured picture sleeve. The cover grades VG - there is some edge scuffing including a 2" hairline split in the bottom edge & a paper tear just by the artist name print on the front but is otherwise ideal & compliments the record very nicely. The Mercury release is already a rarity, valued at £250 in the book & never seen before in any form by us.
The test pressing vinyl is super clean & grades Excellent, with just the lightest few signs of play by the centre hole & no scratches or marks to the wax. Recommended - this is ideal for a Vertigo completist. It's very unlikely we will ever find one again!
