The original UK stereo releases (1966-67) used the 1966 US mix and had a printed "STEREO" logo at the top centre of the front cover. Later stereo releases (1968-69) used the mono cover with a hexagonal gold foil "Stereo" sticker on the back. The records have orange CBS labels. The 1968 US mix was not used in the UK until around 1982.
The first release of the album used a 'rough' textured stereo label with centre boxed logo, with "BLONDE ON BLONDE" above "Bob Dylan", "RECORD 1" etc. on the right, and showing the record speed as just '33' & not '33 1/3'
The stamped Matrices in the run off are SDDP 66012 A/1, B/1, C/1 & D/1.
The inners are of the orange CBS catalogue type.
Sleeve :-
The sleeve is front laminated with 45º edged internal flipbacks.
The nine pictures inside include that of Claudia Cardinale, which was removed from later presses.
The inside panels are clean with just a hint of foxing.
The spine shows some minor wear. The colours are fantastic & there is just some minor laminate creasing with age.
Vinyl :-
Both vinyl discs are super clean & grade a respectable VG/VG+ with just a few mild scuff marks on side one which have little effect on play. All three other sides are much higher quality with no similar blemishes.
Overall a very nice, if not mint, first press of this Dylan classic.
