Genesis Looking For Someone - VG UK Promo 7" vinyl single (7 inch record / 45)
Tracklisting / Additional Info: Charisma signed Genesis to their label in March 1970 and released the band's 2nd album Trespass. Unlike their first album, this album was released in the United States as well as the UK.

Trespass is the first recognizable Genesis album, both in terms of its packaging (a Paul Whitehead cover, the first of three) and its music. Although the music is not as well defined as it would become, it was no longer oriented toward short, simple pop songs. Nonetheless, sales of the album were not impressive.

The first intended single on Charisma was to be 'Looking For Someone/Visions Of Angels'. Promo copies were manufactured with the catalogue number GS1/2 but the single was withdrawn and The Knife was issued in its place making promo copies of Looking For Someone highly collectable.

Condition :-

The label is rough textured with 'The Famous Charisma Label' scroll logo at the top. On the right hand side of the label the catalogue number appears (GS1 on side one GS2 on side two), below this the wording 'NOT FOR RESALE' is in bold black text.

On the left hand side of the label, the copyright/publishing date (P)1970 Statsong/Carlin Mus. and below this the wording 'PROMOTIONAL COPY' is in bold black text.

The titles and band name appear on the bottom portion of the label with 'From The Album Trespass CAS1020' on the A-side.

There is a faint name rubber stamped both sides of the label, unobtrusive to the rest of the print. The vinyl grades VG- & has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks & the odd light scratch. This remains a serviceable example & one of very few surviving copies out there on the market at any one time. Surely no Genesis collection is complete without it...
