This legendary album is far from 'easy listening' but is none the less an essential 'must have' in any collection. Mr Van Vliet & his astonishing band took the conventional ideas about music & composition & turned them completely on their heads to create an album which still, to this day, stands as one of the benchmark recordings in history.
This copy has the ORIGINAL Straight catalogue numbers on both sleeve & labels [STS1053], meaning that it was the first release in 1969 before changing to the more common Reprise pressing.
Unlike the US pressing, the sides are labelled [& play] in order, rather than the 1/4, 2/3 arrangement on the US vinyl.

Condition
The gatefold picture sleeve shows moderate shelfwear leaving it VG+.
The vinyl remains in fantastic condition with very little sign of play and you seldom see vinyl this good on this album.
The first UK release didn't sell too well at the time, so finding one at all is an achievement and this is far better than most.
You either love or hate Trout Mask, there is no inbetween. This is a highly recommended UK original for those that do!
