PETER TOSH Equal Rights (2011 Japanese exclusive First Pressing Legacy edition Remastered 30-track 2-CD album - On 1977's 'Equal Rights', Tosh took a more militant stance; preaching about unity amongst the African diaspora ['African'], protesting conditions in South Africa ['Apartheid'], and elsewhere a more general call to arms. Downpresser Man [based on a folk standard], 'Stepping Razor', and his definitive version of 'Get Up, Stand Up' are as good a trio of songs as you willfind on any album. Tosh's singing is angry and forceful andthe music is intricate and distinctive. The album propelled Tosh to the top of the reggae world and remains among the handful of best, and most influential, reggae albums ever recorded. It comes with two live songs recorded in 1982: the album's 'African', and 'Pick Myself Up', from 1978's 'Bush Doctor'. Includes a Bonus CD packed with Dub, Alternative, Demo and Extended Versions! Picture sleeve with Japanese sleevenotes and obi-strip).
