MICHAEL CHAPMAN Rainmaker (Rare 1969 UK debut 11-track stereo LP on a 'Gramophone Co' Harvest label without an EMI boxed logo & with 'Sold In The UK' text on both sides, indicating a first press with A2/B1 matrices. One of England's finest singer-songwriters, he emerged on the folk circuit at the same time as John Martyn & Roy Harper, quickly gaining a deserved reputation as a man to hear. This album showcases all facets of his extraordinary talent, combining the funkiness of John Martyn with the fluidity of Bert Jansch in his guitar playing, all garnished with his unique vocal stylings and accomplished lyricism. front laminated gatefold picture sleeve. The sleeve is graded VG showing a 1" split to the top seam and all over moderate foxing. The vinyl has just a few light scuffs and is graded as EX-. Overall a respectable and nice play copy of this classic first edition debut listed at an advantageous price! SHVL755).
