STAN GETZ Quintets: The Clef & Norgran Albums (2011 US remastered 45-track 3-CD set - the first-ever collection of Stan Getz's earliest recordings for Norman Granz, the founder of the Verve family of labels. Two-thirds of this collection has never been available on CD, available now for the first time in nearly 60 years. This set presents the recordings in their original 10-inch LP form - Stan Getz Plays, The Artistry of Stan Getz and the three Interpretations LPs - while adding the singles not on the albums and other bonus material from the sessions including three previously unreleased alternate takes recently discovered in the Verve vault. Housed in a 7½" square hardback book style pack featuring a detailed essay by Grammy nominee Ashley Kahn, complemented by a full list of the group's singles and EPs, a chronological discography of the sessions and an alphabetical index of the set's songs, also reproduces all of the rare LP and EP artwork, featuring classic David Stone Martin illustrations and Phil Stern photographs. Housed in a slipcase sleeve with artwork by Bart Forbes, this copy was intended for radio use only and this is denoted by the barcode on the back being covered with this copy still factory sealed).
