entertainers in the UK during the 1930s, and during the war years, her
performances for the troops, as well as on film, on record and on the
radio, were the stuff of legend. Songs such as 'Sally', 'Wish Me Luck
As You Wave Me Goodbye' and 'Now Is The Hour' kept spirits alive
throughout the Second World War and Gracie remained a star until
her death in the 1970s. This brand new collection brings together 25
recordings, including 5 which have never been released commercially
before now. Taken from broadcasts on US radio during the 30s, they
have been newly discovered in the Decca vault. In addition, a brand
new duet has been recorded, using the magic of 21st Century
recording techniques to add the voice of Jane Horrocks to Gracie's
original recording of 'Now Is The Hour'!) )
