THE DUKES OF STRATOSPHEAR The Complete And Utter Dukes (2009 US strictly limited edition multi-format set - The Dukes Of Stratosphear was almost the world's worst kept secret. Everyone knew it was the alter-ego for XTC, but that didn't seem to matter, as their authentically psychedelic pastiche was spot-on for the times, fitting right in alongside the Paisley Underground sounds current in the early-mid 80s. This superb set contains their 2 original albums ['25 O'Clock' and 'Psonic Psunspot'] remastered from the original analog tapes and pressed on 180gram Virgin Vinyl in gatefold sleeves, plus CD versions with bonus demo recordings housed in hardback digibook sleeves with 24-page booklets featuring full lyrics, photos and reams of brand new sleeve notes written by Dave Gregory, Colin Moulding and Andy Partridge; in addition to the sonic loveliness, the set also features a 500-piece jigsaw, 5 One Pound Play notes [redeemable for one Dukes T-Shirt in S/M/L/XL or XXL], and a 7" vinyl single containing 'Tin Toy Clockwork Train' and 'The Affiliated', all packaged together in a lavish sealed purple velveteen-covered 13" x 13" box [hand numbered and autographed by Andy Partridge!] with card belly band!) ** Limited to 1000 copies **.
