FRANK ZAPPA Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar (Not much to say about this
if you are aware that Uncle Frank was a little bit nifty on the fretboard,
apart from 'You want Fries with that ?'. Amazing 20-track promo
sample triple LP that is totally composed of guitar solos recorded live
between 1977 & 1980 with a couple of studio instrumentals thrown in
for good measure. Each volume of the set is in it's own picture sleeve
with track information on the back. Being a Japanese pressing, this is
accompanied by a wonderful illustrated fold out insert with trancriptions
of some of the solos [let's face it, there's a fair bit of Inca Roads on
here!] along with suggestions of how to best wire the pickups on your
Strat should you wish to sprain your fingers attempting to play along.
Being completely written in Japanese, it's admittedly a bit of a difficult
read for the likes of me but I understand the pictures. Wrapped quite
nicely in an outer picture slipcase instead of the more familiar box, it
even fits nicely in your LP racks - No down points at all, so prepare to
take your ears on one hell of a journey! 60AP2268~70).
