DEXTER GORDON QUARTET Daddy Plays The Horn (Rare original 1956 UK 6-track 'microgroove' LP, recorded for the small NYC indie label Bethlehem and issued in the UK as part of London's Jazz Series. The Quartet features Kenny Drew on piano, Leroy Vinnegar bass and drummer Larry Marable, and on their musical travels arrive at a resplendent reading of Bird's Confirmation plus the gorgeous ballad Autumn In New York. The fully laminated flipback 'scalloped' picture sleeve has some ringwear but its flipbacks are secure and undamaged with a bright, vivid print. The vinyl meanwhile looks barely played and is near mint. A winner! LTZ-N15098).
