DISC
The labels are clean & bright with no evidence of any spindle marks. This copy might even have just been played the once for review purposes before filing away.
The Matrices, machine stamped into the dead vinyl, are A/1/1 & B/1/1 meaning that both sides of this disc were pressed from the FIRST stamper made from the FIRST mother - As near to the original master tape as it is possible to get after the first metal mother positive is made.
The vinyl is immaculate with no surface scuffs of any kind.
SLEEVE
The sleeve too is clean & bright, with the only clues to its age being some light scuffing & creasing at the very tips of the corners. General wear is negligible. Normally these sleeves are very susceptable to ringwear & scuffing but this one has escaped the usual ravages of time almost completely!
PRESS FOLDER
The folder reproduces the album artwork exactly in both size & texture as it was designed to be wrapped around the original sleeve. The inside has two flaps at the bottom - one for the album & one for the press sheet. The folder itself is also in amazing condition with just a couple of light scuffs on front & back to mar its perfection.
PRESS SHEET
Using the peculiar 13" x 8" paper that seemed to be favoured by press agencies during the sixties, the press sheet is immaculate with lovely Paragon logo in the top right corner of both sheets of the high quality light cream paper stock. All text is italicised & gives a brief page of lead in for the album & the band before a second page with a more detailed biography of the band & band members. Because the folder itself is only 12" square, the bottom three inches of these pages have been crisply folded back.
All in all an incredible copy of their debut album, exactly as it would have arrived on the desk of just a few very favoured reviewers nearly forty years ago. In over twenty five years, even we'd not come across this folder before !
