This guitar was donated by Robert Plant to a Bob Champion Charity auction in aid of prostrate cancer in 2007. The winning bidder bought the item under the 'Buy Once, Give Twice' scheme where the auction winner doesn't redeem their goods but instead redonates them to be resold, donating the additional proceeds to the charity.
The Ibanez V70CE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric guitar has a natural gloss pine coloured finish. It combines quality electronics with superior Ibanez design. It sounds great either plugged in or played acoustically. It has a rosewood fretboard, select spruce top, mahogany neck, back, and sides and chrome tuners.
The instructions, allen key and amp cable are included in the original Ibanez box, but there is no strap. On very close inspection the scratch plate has a few light marks on it indicating that it was perhaps used before being donated to the auction, however the guitar still looks new. Robert Plant has boldly signed the body of the guitar in blue 'sharpie' pen, adding 'June 07' underneath.
A nice item to either display or play.
