The sleeve with this example is printed with the Island logo and Basing Street address along the bottom edge on the rear. This was only present on the first issue sleeves. The second issue had a slightly different shade of green on the front, manufactured from a thicker card and the back just has a small 'i' logo where the address is printed on the first issue.
Condition
The sleeve displays some general wear with a few scuffs to the front and some light edge scuffing, but free of any rips or splits which is still pretty remarkable fifty five years on!
The labels as previously stated are the black block 'i' logo design, and they remain very clean with no paper loss or writing. There are only a few very faint spindle marks around the centre hole, proving it has only been played a handful of times.
The matrix numbers are machine stamped into the 'dead wax' areas:
ILPS 9105 A-2
ILPS 9105 B-2
The vinyl remains in a stunning condition, with just the odd very faint mark, nothing really to mention, it really is a nice clean example.
We have professionally cleaned and play tested and can confirm that apart from the odd pop or click, there is very little lessening in sound quality, and sounds absolutely stunning.
A simply superb copy of this extremely hard to find first issue.
