VELVET UNDERGROUND White Light / White Heat (US limited edition 6-track LP pressed on 160gram Vinyl - the Velvets' 1968 sophomore LP saw them distance themselves from Andy Warhol, casually losing sometime singer Nico along the way; this, then, is the only official recorded document of the band in its purist form, captured at Scepter Studios, New York, in September 1967, untainted by outside influences, other than producer Tom Wilson & engineer Gary Kellgren, and what an uncompromising slab of noise they served up, including the legendary 17-minute 'Sister Ray', the free-jazz freakout of 'I Heard Her Call My Name' and 'The Gift', a heartwarming tale of young love and unusual postage!!
