This fantastic item is the first genuine Stevie Ray autograph that we have ever seen & was obtained in 1983 at the festival.
Other bands appearing included Man, Steel Pulse, Stranglers, Big Country, Marillion, Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, the almost resident band of the event The Climax Blues Band and many others.
The Autographs are signed over Stevie's picture on page 19, all in blue ballpoint pen :-
'To Mick, All The Best, Stevie Ray Vaughan'
'Tommy Shannon' & 'THANKS WHIPPER'
They are nicely signed in a clear but slightly rushed backstage fashion, not like the carefully scripted & crafted fakes you see so often on eBay & the like.
What makes this autograph set even more amazing is that it is conclusively obtained in the UK.
If you were ever to find another genuine autograph, there would be a 99% probability of it being obtained in the USA & probably on an unidentifiable publicity photograph or piece of paper.
This is on a UK festival programme, giving it a confirmed date of signing, and has the rest of Double Trouble too to back up the authenticity.
It's pretty irrelevant to point out, but the A4 sized programme itself is immaculate with negligable wear or fading.
Stevie Ray autographs are notoriously difficult to find nowadays.
Most being offered for sale these days are counterfeit.
This is unquestionably the REAL DEAL - GENUINE - item.
