'Ragazzo Solo, Ragazza Sola' is a version of David Bowie's first hit single Space Oddity with Italian lyrics by Ivan Mogol.
This special version of Space Oddity was commissioned for the Italian market and released in November 1969. Two Italian bands Equipe 84 and The Computers had recorded their own Italian versions of "Space Oddity" and Bowie's record company probably felt that this threatened the chances of Bowie's version in Italy. Instead of translating the lyrics of the original version Mogol wrote a love story about a young couple that meet each other on the top of a mountain, "Ragazzo Solo, Ragazza Sola" meaning "Lonely Boy, Lonely Girl". Bowie recorded the Italian version thinking he sang a translation of the original lyrics.
CONDITION
The unique 'Warhol Style' picture sleeve is a delicate paper sleeve, as is typical with Italian releases but is in surprisingly great condition with only minimal scuffs or ring wear [nothing to discourage a collector] The vinyl however is in MINT condition and appears virtually unplayed with spine marks on the blue and silver labels.

2nd issue limited 7" vinyl single released on Philips. This special
version of 'Space Oddity was pressed for the Italian market only. Due
to a rush release, instead of translating the lyrics of the original
version Ivan Mogol wrote new words based on a love story. Bowie
then recorded the Italian version on the basis that he was singing a
translation of the original without realising the different lyrics. This
single is incredibly hard to find especially in such great condition)
