I was actually AT this gig !
Imagine my delight at seeing the BBC truck outside then witnessing a particularly fine gig with Sioux on top form & the band really working well.
For my money, John Carruthers was the nearest they ever got again to the guitar wizardry of the late great John McGeoch, plus he had the ideal requirement for a Banshees guitarist - he was called 'John'.
Months passed ...
The Banshees 'File' fan-club magazine confirmed that the gig had been recorded by the BBC for broadcast 'soon' - Joy!
Months passed ...
MORE months passed ...
No broadcast :-(
As far as I am aware (& I waited over two years tuned in to the radio every week, just in case) this was NEVER broadcast in the UK & ended up more or less 'export only'.
This show has previously only ever been available on dodgy bootlegs, so this is your chance to own the original Transcription Disc from which those unofficial copies were made - in MINT condition!
