The Rolling Stones 12 x 5 - Twelve By Five - 2nd US vinyl LP album (LP record)
|
Tracklisting / Additional Info: |
The first four Stones LPs arrived in the States by way of Export from the UK, these first issues have 'Made in the UK' on the label and the London logo is boxed WITH FFRR in the box, however many are in US sleeves. These, being first pressings are very collectible, however many collectors also crave the first US pressed issues in both mono and the rarer stereo counterparts. These can be identified by a red (mono) or blue (stereo) label with the London logo "open" or "unboxed". Late 60's and 70's issues have a silver box around the London Logo but lack the FFRR logo.
The labels are dark blue, non reflective with silver logos and text. The London logo is unboxed or open, "Stereophonic" is banded just above the centrehole. Made in USA is printed at the bottom of the label. Both sides of the labels are immaculate. There are no blemishes or spindlemarks.
The matrix numbers are machine stamped into the dead vinyl, they are as follows.
Side 1 ZAL6493-1A Side 2 ZAL6494-1A
The vinyl is beautiful, side one is mint, side two has only two very light inaudible surface marks which do not spoil the beautiful stereo sound. Side one also contains the rare "organ intro" to the track "Time Is On My Side"
The pasted picture sleeve is made of thick card as most US pressings from this era were. These 60's sleeves were prone to scuffing and ringwear and splitting to the spine and edges. The sleeve on the copy is beautiful with none of the aforementioned defects.
An investment grade item or worthwhile addition to any serious collection with no need to upgrade!
