DR JOHN Gris-Gris (Cult Classic 1968 UK 7-track stereo LP debut on the plum & red Atlantic label, signifying the birth of Dr John The Night Tripper, previously known as Mac Rebennack. The album delivers a unique fusion of voodoo mysticism, funk, rhythm & blues, psychedelic rock & Creole roots, including tunes that went on to serve as great cover material such as 'Gris-Gris Gumbo Ya Ya', 'Mama Roux' & 'I Walked On Gilded Splinters', front laminated picture sleeve with pinched spine.Thesleeve shows only a little minor laminate lift near the spine and light edge scuffing. The vinyl has just a few light surface scuffs/hairlines and with very little spindle wear, this copy looks barely played. A wonderful example of this elusive record)
