Recorded at Relight Studios in the Netherlands, the album showcases a refined blend of progressive rock complexity & emerging melodic sensibilities. Highlights include the sweeping instrumentalsuite Unquiet Slumbers for the Sleepers.../...In That Quiet Earth, inspired by Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights plus the exquisite Blood On The Rooftops, a much-loved gem penned by Hackett & Phil Collins. The single Your Own Special Way, written by Mike Rutherford, hinted at the more accessible direction the band would explore in later years & remains a live staple. Other standouts include the energetic opener Eleventh Earl Of Mar & the moody epic One For The Vine, which showcases Tony Banks’ virtuosic keyboard work. With a seamless blend of classical-influenced arrangements, lyrical introspection & a pastoral English tone, this album has since become a cult favourite among fans of 1970s progressive rock.
