This is the only confirmed official and genuine promo known to exist for Penny Royal Tea and features the Scott Litt mix of the track. It was pressed in the UK, but never sent out due to a number of errors on the disc:--
1. Pennyroyal Tea is spelled Penny Royal Tea. Not really an error, Penny Royal Tea is actually the way it is properly spelled in the UK. Pennyroyal is correct in American-English, but this is British-English.
2. Virgin Music Ltd. instead of Virgin Music Inc.
3. The End Of The Music is supposed to be just The End Of Music. This was the principle reason for the destroy order due to legal ramifications with an incorrect music publisher credit.
4. The catalogue number is NIRPRO, though the matrix code read NIRPRO1.
Once the errors were noticed the promos were scheduled for destruction with the intention of producing another set of promos but this idea was subsequently shelved permanently due to Kurt's suicide.
Only a very small number left the pressing plant and these were mostly delivered to the record company and it is thought that only about 30 - 50 copies remain in existence.
It is also quite likely that the commercial single was withdrawn after his death due to the track I Hate Myself And I Want To Die which could arguably be described as an unsuitable epitaph that their record company would be unlikely to release.
