The World Won't Listen stands as one of the most beloved Smiths compilations. Initially dismissed by parts of the music press, the album quickly found its place with fans for its essential collection of singles, B-sides and alternatemixes - capturing the band in the middle of their intensely creative mid-80s peak. Featuring Panic, Ask, Shoplifters of the World Unite, Bigmouth Strikes Again, and There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, the compilation demonstrates the range of Morrissey and Marr's songwriting during this era. Its title, famously chosen by Morrissey, reflected the band's frustrations with the industry, expressed - as always - through their music.
