The Grammy Awards, took place in Los Angeles on Feb 8th with with U2 picking up five prizes at the prestigious awards ceremony, eclipsing the pre-ceremony favourites Mariah Carey and
Kanye West. The Irish band won every award they were nominated for, including song of the year and album of the year. At this years glittering ceremony, Grammy history was made when
thirteen-time winner Sir Paul McCartney performed his hit single 'Fine Line'. Also performing were Grammy winner and current five-time nominee Bruce Springsteen who performed a tribute
to New Orleans alongside The Edge and Elvis Costello.
The show featued a special tribute to legendary funk band Sly And The Family Stone featuring an all-star cast of artists,
including Grammy nominated artists Maroon 5, Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas, and John Legend; Grammy winners Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith; soul sweetheart Joss Stone; rocker
Robert Randolph; and singer Devin Lima. Here are the key winners form the night alongside the other nominees. |
