Animaki Ostersund SWEDEN Created Mon 30th May '11 16:14 (GMT)Question to EIL: Paul Weller 'Britain´s coolest songwriter' Read the latest newsletter from Eil.com where the BMG promo issue 'Britain´s coolest songwriter' is valued to (or offered for) £100. It is a MG promo (BMG PUB 007) and has 15 tracks with extensive notes on each track. I have a version of that promo album too. But, my album, also BMG PUB 007 and Promo, has 21 tracks in a digipak sleeve and gatefold booklet glued on inside with notes on each track. I can´t find this edition on eil.com or Discogs. Can anyone please tell me about this edition of the (mine) album, and possibly it´s value. Thanks.[reply to this topic ]

sdw12 UNITED KINGDOM Created Thu 15th May '08 10:43 (GMT)Patriotic Fanzine Very cool indeed and no need to be modest. Drop me a line if you fancy reviewing the new Weller album and singles when they come out. saul.watson@eil.com[reply to this topic ]
Re: PAUL WELLER/VARIOUS Patriotic! (1980's UK issue 4 of the fanzine
'Patriotic' including a 6-page interview with Paul talking about his early
days, signing groups to his own label, owning a 1970 G.P. I50
Lambretta, and much more - a great read!) View this product
rockcat Dresher, PA USA Created Mon 12th May '08 17:51 (GMT)Track order It's bizarre that both of these discs appear to contain the exact same tracks, yet in a completely different running order. Why do labels insist upon constantly mixing up the song order, rather than presenting the songs IN THE ORDER THAT THE ARTIST INTENDED?! (ie: the order that he played them at the show!)[reply to this topic ]

Re: PAUL WELLER Days Of Speed (Rare 2001 UK numbered limited
edition 18-track double vinyl LP, gatefold picture sleeve with inners &
original numbered tracklising insert. Great live solo set from Mr Weller,
that incorporates solo material, the StyleCouncil and even some Jam
classics - NICE! Aside from the start of a split [which is only thumbnail
sized] the sleeve shows very little wear, the vinyl is superb and looks
barely played. Due to the limited pressing this album has become
increasingly hard to find - until now! SOM26LP) View this product

JUNKIE Cheltenham, Gloucestershire UNITED KINGDOM Created Sun 29th Apr '07 15:27 (GMT)Porcelain God With the 30th anniversary of the release of The Jam’s first single In The City, which was originally issued on 29th April 1977, now upon us, a new revised 648 page A5 paperback version of Porcelain God is being released which is now available for order at www.porcelaingod.co.uk. The 2007 Version of the Paul Weller documentary, “Porcelain God”, is a definitive guide to the music career of one of the UK’s greatest ever Singer/Songwriters. It covers, in painstaking detail, Paul’s career from his earliest days in the Jam through to 2007 and is probably the sort of anoraks guide that Paul would hate and see as totally pointless. If however, you are a fan and want a complete recording database of over 550 Jam, Style Council and Paul Weller songs or want to have a reference guide to his career, then this may be the book for you. Written by a fan for other fans, Porcelain God is the most detail account of Paul Weller’s music ever compiled, documenting and analysing Paul’s work in extreme detail. It is split into the following chapters: Chronology: A diary of Paul’s career covering from the period 1958 to 2007, this section includes all music related activity including; key events, concerts including set lists, radio and TV sessions, recording activity and music releases, where known. Live Audio Recordings: A record of all known live audio recordings by The Jam, The Style Council and Paul Weller (Solo) including sound checks. Radio Sessions & Documentaries: A complete record of all known radio sessions and documentaries. Paul has undertaken many promotional sessions often involving different, live or acoustic versions of his songs and many cover versions. Live Video Recordings: A complete record of all known live video recordings including Unofficial & Official Releases Discography: A discography of releases by The Jam, The Style Council and Paul Weller spanning many countries. Official Releases, Chart Positions and Other Sales information: A database of release and chart information covering The Jam, The Style Council and Paul Weller’s solo career along with other groups Paul has had involvement in. Sophie Ashley - UK Office UNITED KINGDOM Created Fri 29th Sep '06 15:59 (GMT)Question to EIL: Hi John Mispressings occured and do occur still quite frequently - much to the embarrassment of the label - and generally were pulled prior to hitting the shelves. For exmaple Going Underground was not originally planned as the A side of that single release but ,as they planned a double pack and had pressed up 300,000 copies in France they went with it... the rest is history. In cases where the pressing/error results in different artists these more oftenn than not are more of a novelty collectable in general rather than having intrinsic high value. If you were to list it on an auction site you might get a collector who was interested. Best of luck John[reply to this topic ]
John W (eil.com) UNITED KINGDOM Created Mon 11th Sep '06 07:51 (GMT)yet more jam!!! Hi Philip Apologies for the delay in getting back to your last post - the joys of a holiday. Sounds as thouigh you have some nice collectables there. In terms of the Jam/YMCA single this is difficult to value - ballpark about £50ish I would say. The autographed Smiths stuff can be found by placing smiths in the general search + autographed and leave the format as all products. Some are rare pieces and so I would file under the treat yourself for Christmas logic!! All the best John[reply to this topic ]
