 | | Review: the legality of this record I was in the studio the day "Standing" was written and recorded by Sidney with Ian Levine and several sellected friends. It is not a legal recording because it is on Sidney's on label that has his old Chicago address written on it and yet he has never received a cent from Mr Levine even though a contract was written up saying that profits would be split 50/50 once production costs were paid. The original copies were £20 each and were supposed to be limited to just 200 copies. Since then there has been more than 200 copies sold of the original pressing and yet no one has seen fit to send Mr Barnes a cheque of any kind for royalties as he did co-write the song, sing it and it was also issued on the label that is his by right with the BMI. Now I have found copies that have been re-pressed to meet demand that have not been made using the original plates and the label is moulded into the vinyl and is a lot smaller than the one alined to this item. Oh and the record was pressed in London I believe not the US. The flip is Mr Barnes singing over a re-mixed version of his classic USA Blue Cat 45 that Levine did for the Strange World Of Northern Soul films so he didn't have to pay royalties.
