| | Review: Forth full studio album from Japanese band headed by Makoto Kubota and Sandii. Sandii & the Sunsetz were originally produced by the The Yellow Magic Orchestra. Bassist Haruomi Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi in particular got involved in the albums "Eating Pleasure", "The Heat Scale", "Immigrants" and "Viva Lava Liva" Though dating back to 1986, this out of print CD became eventually the rarest, due to its poor printing/distribution (only in Japan). They eventually got successful in Australia, but it was never printed in Europe nor US. Nevertheless, it features credits from UK singer Stephen Tin Tin Duffy and Harry Hosono ("The Act of Love"), also produced by this latter as a 7" & 12". David Sylvian's followers will be glad to finally discover one of his rarest songs: "This Is not Enough" is a groovy song fully credited to David Sylvian both for lyrics and music. You can hear his voice on backing vocals. This CD also contain a nice OBI strip, lyrics both in English and Japanese, a bonus track (compared to the LP version, #9 "The Serious Game"), the single "Battery" and a cover, "East Meets West", maybe too pop. After this album they explored the world of reggae music. | [reply to this topic] |
