LP Record (1977) This record album has been a favorite of mine since I was given my first copy of it back in the late 1970s by my mother and father. However, since I was only six at the time, I didn't have any kind of knowledge on how to take proper care of vinyl records. As a result, this album and my other LPs and 45s were all abused and scratched - rendering them nearly unplayable.
Nowadays, this no longer happens anymore and today I have a Technics SL-Q3 automatic turntable that uses magnetic cartridges. I now have some albums which I have owned for about 20 years, and they all still play very well indeed. I am also careful to keep the stylus of my cartridge cleaned regularly and replaced when needed. My turntable was built in 1979, but it still runs like brand-new. Since acquiring it in late 1994, I have had no problems with the turntable system itself whatsoever. I DID once, however, ended up buying a faulty cartridge - which I eventually replaced after I got the extra money.
Anyway, I am so relieved that I was able to find a NEW replacement copy of this album for my listening enjoyment. My favorite song, of course, is "Breakfast Time" - featuring Ernie and Cookie Monster. Even to this day, hearing Cookie Monster asking for a soft-boiled cookie for breakfast makes me want to laugh my heart out. I also like each of the tracks featuring actor and singer Bob McGrath from Sesame Street, such as "People in Your Neighborhood", "Clean-up Time" (featuring Oscar the Grouch), and so forth. This record album was made back when watching Sesame Street still meant something, and it surely helps me to preserve those precious memories from my childhood years. | [reply to this topic] |
