supersol Sheffield, S Yorks UNITED KINGDOM Created Wed 18th Aug '10 10:32 (GMT) | | 1966 Mono Incredible String Band First LP Being a huge admirer of the Incredible String Band, and having been such since 1970, I already had this album both on vinyl and CD, but in stereo in both cases.
When this one came up for sale, I was very keen to get it, both as a fascinating historical artefact, and as a mono version of the recordings.
In fact, I have yet to listen to it, a happy task scheduled for next week. I am of course very familiar with all the stuff on it, but it will be a completely new experience to hear it "as nature intended".
The music is fantastic, though not as psychedelic as the next two albums were, after the "gap year", when Robin went to Afghanistan (a hippy rather than military thing to do in those days). | [reply to this topic] |

1966 UK second issue 16-track MONO LP on the 'rough'
textured orange label, featuring the original trio line-up of
Clive Palmer, Robin Williamson & Mike Heron, fully laminated
picture sleeve. The thin sleeve has some inevitable ring wear,
laminate scuffing & lift along the spine. Thanks to the
laminate, which cleans up well, the cover still looks
remarkably vivid & the colours are rich, with all text legible
including along the spine. The vinyl is Excellent with just mild
paper scuffs or hairlines & some spindle to indicate play.
Sounds superb on a mono setting, thanks to the quality of
sixties vinyl & comes recommended EUK254) View this product
