rockdoc Luleå SWEDEN Created Wed 13th Oct '10 17:29 (GMT) Edited Wed 13th Oct '10 17:30 (GMT) | | Andy Warhol's Swedish poster In 1981 Sweden's National Museum in Stockholm presented a huge exhibition of record cover art. The exhibition originated in Denmark. There were a couple of Andy Warhol's record cover designs in the exhibition, but few, apart from the Velvet Underground and Rollings Stones covers were at that time known to have been designed by Warhol. Since then over fifty covers have been identified produced between 1949 and his death in 1987. This poster with its inscription "Ytans innehåll utställning om skivomslag" (in translation: The surface's contents an exhibition of record covers) was not the official exhibition poster but was shown in the exhibition. In 2008, when Warhol would have turned 80, a retrospective exhibition of his record cover art was shown in Piteå, Sweden. This was the first time that all his known cover designs were shown in a single exhibition. This poster was also shown at that exhibiiton. | [reply to this topic] |

history on this rare poster framed & glazed with black surround, it was
produced early 1970's which just pictured the Banana and title which
was AUTOGRAPHED by Andy [circa 1980 - 1982] and was later used
for a Show on Record Covers in the late 1980'. We understand that
the printer who added the black 'Show Text' obtained them direct from
New York as plain signed Banana screened posters. Obtained from a well respected Art Gallery and guaranteed genuine. Measures 27" x 15".)
