Shania Twain became the most popular country music artist since Garth Brooks. Skillfully fusing mainstream, AOR rock production with country-pop, along with her producer/husband 'Mutt' Lange created a commercial juggernaut with her second album, The Woman in Me. The record went multi platinum, eventually selling over nine million copies in America alone. She may have been a commercial success but critics often accused her of diluting country with bland, anthemic hard rock and of shamelessly selling her records with sexy videos. She made the total cross-over with 1997’s Come On Over which surpassed its predecessor selling an astonishing 36 million copies worldwide, Shania had become a country music phenomenon. The follow up ‘Up!’ was released in 2002 and further cemented her place as the Queen of ‘new country’. With an ever increasing market for Shania memorabilia, there is no shortage of back catalogue rarities, amazing memorabilia and quality collectibles, all available right here in our specialist Shania Twain collectors store… |
