cemented Koko Taylor's place asChicago's undisputed Queen
of the Blues. Scouted by Chess Records house bassist and
producer Willie Dixon at Chicago's legendary Sylvio's Lounge,
Dixon provided his new protégé with "Wang Dang Doodle", a
song that would sell more than a million copies and become
her signature tune.
Drawing heavily from her recent
run of hit 45s, the album features Dixon-penned classics
including "Twenty-Nine Ways (To My Baby's Door)" and "Yes,
It's Good for You", alongside Taylor's own "Nitty Gritty",
highlighted by Johnny Shines' poignant slide guitar. This
audiophile reissue is mastered and cut by Matthew Lutthans at
The Mastering Lab, and pressed at Quality Record
Pressings.
Housed in a tip-on gatefold jacket.
