13-track LP pressed on 180-gram Black Vinyl. Released in
July 1995, Brothas Doobie is Funkdoobiest's second studio
album, produced largely by DJ Muggs alongside DJ Ralph M, DJ Lethal
and Ray Roll. Albumism's 25th anniversary retrospective described
the group arriving "a little more seasoned and with a stronger sense
of their identity" than on their debut, noting the record's first half in
particular represents "the best music that the group ever recorded,"
as the trio grappled with subject matter around poverty and violence
with a more pensive tone than their earlier party-focused material.
"Superhoes" was later featured on the double-platinum soundtrack to
F. Gary Gray's 1995 film Friday, and the album also produced
"Rock On" and "Dedicated" as singles. Picture sleeve) )
