Following the historic acquisition of Queen's music catalogue by Sony Music, a major shift has occurred for physical format collectors. The band's long-standing UK distribution relationship with Universal Music Group has officially drawn to a close, meaning the existing Universal-distributed catalogue is now deleted and out of print, covering releases on the Virgin, EMI and Hollywood record labels . Moving forward, all new vinyl, CD and physical media releases-including upcoming reissues and newly manufactured stock-are produced and distributed under the Sony Music umbrella.
