YES Close To The Edge (2026 Blu-ray Audio - Dolby
Atmos, 5.1, Stereo & Instrumental Mixes - Released in
September 1972, Close to the Edge became Yes's
greatest commercial success to that point, reaching number
three on the Billboard chart on the strength of its 18-minute
title track, the band's longest composition at the time, with
lyrics drawn from Hermann Hesse's novel Siddhartha.
The sessions at Advision Studios proved gruelling, and
drummer Bill Bruford, finding the process increasingly
laborious, told his bandmates he was leaving for King Crimson
during the album's mixing, departing on 19 July 1972, days
before the record's release. Bassist Chris Squire later called
finishing the album "a bitter-sweet experience," while Bruford
himself has continued to describe the record as "a
masterpiece" in the decades since; his replacement, Alan
White, remained with the band for the rest of its history. This
disc includes Steven Wilson's 2025 Atmos, 5.1, Stereo &
Instrumental mixes, plus Bernie Grundman's 2025
Stereo Remaster. Presented inside an Amaray case with
picture insert, hype sticker & factory sealed)
