Hourglass</I> is the third studio album from Role Model, the project
of Maine-born, LA-based singer-songwriter Tucker Pillsbury. Where his
previous two records tracked the boom and bust of his highly
publicised relationship with internet personality Emma Chamberlain,
this album steps outside straightforward autobiography by way of
Chuck Timely, a fictional time-traveller narrator Pillsbury has
described as having crossed paths with both Michael Jackson and
Olivia Rodrigo. He's been careful to stress it isn't a concept album in
the strict sense, telling <I>Rolling Stone</I> he "wrote all the songs
and then came up with this Chuck thing" afterward to tie them
together, the material itself drawing on a genuinely transformative
period of soul-searching between relationships. Lead single "High
Hopes 3000" leans into a sunnier, piano-forward sound, with Pillsbury
citing Bruce Hornsby, Fleetwood Mac and yacht rock as touchstones
