Vinyl</b></span>. Juno Award-winning Canadian progressive
rock duo Crown Lands — Cody Bowles and Kevin Comeau —
step outside the parameters of their critically acclaimed
album <I>Fearless</I> with this instrumental and
experimental double LP, marking the beginning of their new
relationship with InsideOut/Sony Music. Conceived during the
pandemic as an actof defiance against stagnation, <I>Ritual I
& II</I> finds Bowles playing an array of flutes while
drumming polyrhythmic percussion over Comeau's
undulating, expansive synthesiser work — a record built at a
remove from commercial pressures and the closer for it.
Across eleven tracks spread over two distinct suites, the duo
construct a shifting, immersive world that moves through
dawn, storm, vigil, tempest and celestial marsh — music that
deepens the Crown Lands universe rather than redirecting it.
