Central to the band's identity was Gerry Rafferty, whose melodic sensibility and songwriting clarity would later fuel one of the most successful solo careers of the decade. Following the band's dissolution in 1975, Rafferty emerged as a major solo artist, scoring international hits with Baker Street, Right Down The Line, Night Owl and Get It Right Next Time. His 1978 album City to City reached No. 1 in the US and No. 6 in the UK, cementing his reputation as a songwriter of lasting appeal. This Collected series 2-LP set brings both chapters together across four sides. One full side is devoted to Stealers Wheel's key recordings, while the remaining three sides trace Rafferty's solo output through the 1970s and into the early 1980s, offering a concise, well-curated overview of an artist whose work bridged folk, pop and soft rock with uncommon consistency.
