Conceived as one of Townsend's most ambitious works, the project was developed over more than a decade as an orchestral, choral and theatrical piece, created in collaboration with the North Netherlands Orchestra and Choir. Written from the ground up as a fully orchestratednarrative, The Moth brings together a large international cast of musicians and contributors, including long-time collaborators Darby Todd, Mike Keneally and James Leach, with guest appearances from Steve Vai, Anneke Van Giersbergen and Lynn Wu of Ou. The deluxe edition expands the album across three CDs: the main album, The Moth - The Afterlife, and The Moth - The War (Live). The Blu-ray includes the full The Moth - The War live film, plus Dolby Atmos and High Resolution Stereo mixes of both The Moth and The Moth - The Afterlife. Recommended).
