classic black vinyl. Joe Jackson returns with <I>Hope And Fury</I>, a
nine-track studio set that brings him back to the sophisticated pop
territory at the centre of much of his catalogue. Following the distinct
side-step of <I>What A Racket!</I> in 2023, this album moves back
into what Jackson describes as his own "mainstream" - sharply written
songs with shifting rhythms, texture and bite. Recorded between
Michael Tibes'FuzzFactory in Berlin-Kreuzberg and Reservoir Studios
in New York, <I>Hope And Fury</I> was co-produced with Patrick
Dillett. Jackson is joined by long-time collaborator <B>Graham
Maby</B> on bass, alongside <B>Teddy Kumpel</B> on guitar and
<B>Doug Yowell</B> on drums, with additional percussion from
<B>Paulo Stagnaro</B>. Across nine new songs, the album moves
from incisive, witty pop to more reflective material. Jackson describes
the overall sound as "Bicoastal LatinJazzFunkRock," a phrase that
reflects both the music itself and his life split between New York and
